Invest in our Future

The excerpt below from a wealth management newsletter applies to investing in programs supporting programs that nurture the health and vigor of body & mind of our very youngest children. Investors pour billions into longshot, longterm infrastructure and other future-oriented projects without pinpointed “data” to justify it. But they demand elusive, expensive studies to justify much smaller, shorter term (like 5 years!) investments in the bodies and minds of children already Here, Now. (plus they ignore decade of research already showing the benefits and efficacy of early childhood investment. What is wrong with people??)

These investments, which may have delayed and unexpected benefits over multiple decades, often can’t rally enough support to spur immediate action. As history unfolds, however, it is precisely this type of patient and visionary investment that yields that largest payoff for investors and society alike.
